Phuket – Drunken Russian (Seriously, are there any other kind?) goes on temple smashing-rampage

Via: The Phuket News

1

Police say just after midnight on Tuesday (October 22) they received a report that someone had gone to Wat Karon and smashed a statue there.

The person had then smashed a truck window and tried to hot-wire it to steal.

The person was unsuccessful and ran away. Police checked the CCTV camera footage from the temple and, after asking around, identified Mr Fomenko, a Russian visitor, as the culprit. Police found him staying at a house in Soi Patak 18 in Karon, and when he came out of the house he was wearing the same clothing as in the camera footage.

When police questioned him, Mr Fomenko accepted it was him on the CCTV footage, and said he was rather ashamed about the previous night’s events – which he put down to being excessively drunk. He was arrested and charged with attempted theft and damaging property.

Pattaya – ‘O Man’ Tourist Tricked!

1

At 7 AM Ms. Bunchan Hongphukeaw, 25 years old waitress of a restaurant in Pattaya along with Mr.Ahed Hamdaen aged 33, a tourist from Oman visited the police station and filed a complaint against a transexual or Ladyboy for drugging him and stealing his belongings.

Ms. Bunchan claims that while driving to work on her motorcycle she saw Mr. Ahed Hamdaen in front of Soi Kor Phai, waving his hands asking for help. He tried to explain the situation to her in English which she was able to understand quite a bit. He told her that he met a ladyboy in Walking Street who tricked him into coming to a room, where was drugged and his cash and important documents were stolen. She felt sorry for him and therefore took him for a meal and bought him to the police station. (Good for her!)

The translator at the police station tried to inquire the details from the victim but he did not give any straight answers.

It is unknown as to which hotel he previously stayed in and whether he has any relatives with him or not. Police officials have registered his complaint and reported it to the tourist Department so that further help can be given to this Oman tourist.

my theory:

I believe ladyboys are now ‘stacked up’ outside of customs, just waiting for the Omanis; and the Russians, of course.

SUCKAS!

Pattaya – Lady boy blamed for Stolen Mobile Phone!

1

At 5.30 am MR.ALEXZANDER GOROSHILO , 34 years old Russian tourist ,the victim of a pick pocketing incident blames a lady boy Mr. Soonthon aged 23 from Phitsanulok province for stealing his mobile phone when they met at walking streets. The incident was reported at the Pattaya police station by the victim.

After investigation Mr. Alexzander the victim testified that while at walking streets he met Mr.Soonthon a lady boy who tried to talk to him after a while offered his service, the victim felt that he was drunk and wanted to return to his room therefore he did not go along with the little boy. (a little boy? I don’t think she looks like a boy, and I certainly wouldn’t describe her/him/THEM as ‘little’.)

The lady boy continued to walk after him and again asked him to use this service again but Mr. Alexzander went straight to his room. Just before reaching his room he checked his belongings and found that his Samsung Galaxy note 1 worth 20,000 baht ($625 USD) was missing. He confessed that the phone had been stolen by Mr.Soonthon. He then reported to the police and they are now investigating to find his mobile phone and the person involved.

Mr.Soonthon claims that he did not steal the mobile phone but he also confessed following and talking to Mr Alexander. He believed that the victim was drunk (a drunk Russian – IMPOSSIBLE!) and the mobile phone was stolen by someone else before they met. He also claims that even though he is a lady boy it does not mean that he will take someone else’s stuff. He claims that he has a degree and has participated in many beauty pageant contest and has received plenty of prize money. He never thought of any kind of behavior that will affect his impression. However, if the victim wants to blame him he is willing to fight the case stated the lady boy.

The victim still holds his statement that the ladyboy was the one who stole his mobile phone. The police therefore told the victim that he must have solid evidence to fight the case against the lady boy. The police however recorded all information and told the victim to rest and come back when he was sober (a drunk Russian – IMPOSSIBLE!).

Moreover, if the victim do take over the case then Mr.Soonthon will be informed.

Pattaya – Five Flamin’ Russians Flee From Flaming Crash

1

Via: Pattaya Daily News

At 4 a.m., a report of a car colliding with a tour bus and erupting into flames was received by Pol. Capt. Thitiwas Boon-orn, investigation officer, Pattaya police station, Chonburi province. He rushed to the scene with the firemen and rescue officers of Sawangboribul Pattaya foundation.

The incident occurred at Rachwaroon club road, Soi Kasetsin 3, Moo 11 Tambon Nong Preu, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province.

At the scene, officers found a severely-damaged white Toyota Vios parked in the middle of the road. Fires were burning inside the vehicle’s engine compartment and car interior. Fireman began spraying water on the vehicle and took 20 minutes to extinguish the flames.

The five shaken-up Russian tourists who had been inside the car were standing a safe distance away. They were able to exit the burning car immediately and were not injured. The driver of the car was identified as Ms. Leyla Boltynova, age 32.

Parked about 300 meters away was the tour bus that the car had hit. It was a white Sunlong bus, owned by the Hongthongsine Sport Corporation Co., Ltd. The front driver’s side of the bus had scrapes and dents from the collision.

Standing by the side of the bus waiting for the police was the bus driver, identified as Mr. Veerasak Deearsa, age 49. He described to officers what had happened. He had been on his way to pick up Russian customers at the Cozy Beach hotel.

But as he approached the curve in the road, he saw an oncoming car driven at a high speed was losing control on the curve. It was coming right at his bus, so he blasted his horn. But the car collided with the front of his bus and then spun around and slid 300 meters down the road.

When the car came to a stop, smoke was coming from its engine compartment. Then a fire started under the hood, which spread to the whole car. The group of 5 male and female people in the car hurried to escape from the vehicle and barely made it out in time to survive.

After inspecting and investigating at the incident in detail, the police made notes for evidence before questioning the two parties involved in the incident to investigate in detail again.

Initially, police assumed that Ms. Leyla was driving at a high speed and was unfamiliar with the road (and secondly, alchohol perhaps?) . So when she arrived at the curve, she lost control and could not control her car, which collided with the oncoming tour bus and slid 300 meters, before the fire started from the engine compartment and quickly engulfed the entire vehicle.

Phuket – Russian gang attack couple at Catch Beach Club

1

Via: Phuket Daily News

Speaking from a bed at Bangkok Hospital while he awaits surgery to put a metal plate in his cheek after it was fractured in three places in the fracas, Mr Travers – partner in Indigo Real Estate and a DJ at Bliss Beach Club – told The Phuket News that this was the first time in his nine years of living on the island that anything like this had happened.

Mr Travers, from Canada, was still clearly shaken up as he recounted what happened.

“Jen and I had popped in to Catch Beach Club for a late night drink because we had friends from out of town visiting us.

“We had a feeling there was going to be trouble because there was a guy walking around without a shirt on and that’s never a good sign.”

As they were getting ready to leave at around 2 am, they saw one man – from the group who would later assault them – arguing with a man in English.

“I wanted to get Jen out of that area, so I went to get her. I said hello to the man who was being spoken to by the group and the next thing I knew [one of them] had grabbed Jen by the neck and punched her in the nose (breaking it). I tried pushing them away and then it all became a blur, I was set on by three of them.”

~

It has been alleged in another news site on the island that the cause of the incident was because one of the members of the group had taken a liking to Ms Jen, to which Mr Travers had reacted aggressively.

Ms Jen vehemently denies this. “I had never spoken to any of them. They could barely speak English – when we were in the Cherng Talay police station later with them, one tried talking to me and I said I had nothing to say to him.”

Thailand to receive more Chinese tourists

1

Via: China Daily

According to Kasian Watanachaopisut, president of the Thai- Chinese Tourism Alliance Association, the Chinese film entitled “Lost in Thailand” has reportedly made up to 700 million yuan ($111 million) since it premiered in the world’s most populated country earlier this month.

Produced with a 30 million yuan budget and directed by Chinese movie star Xu Zheng, “Lost in Thailand” might probably become China’s most-viewed comedy of all time.

Kasian said the film has drawn the attention of Chinese viewers to the fascinations and tourism qualities of Chiang Mai and many are interested to visit it some day.

According to him, a total of 2.5 million Chinese tourists are estimated to visit Thailand throughout 2012, and only a meager 2 percent of them are reported to have been somehow attracted to Chiang Mai or other northern spots.

“But that comedy is believed to be drawing a lot more of the Chinese tourists to Chiang Mai where local villagers, cultural heritages and scenic, natural spots are so inviting and well- preserved,” he said.

“With the help of ‘Lost in Thailand’ which is now a Chinese box office smash featuring Chiang Mai as a beautiful tourist spot worth visiting, we do hope that the number of Chinese tourists to Chiang Mai will substantially increase from this year’s 50,000,” he said.

According to a local tourism official, Chinese tourists spend an average of 3,750 baht ($125) each in Chiang Mai per day. ($125 per day? – NO f’n way to they come anywhere close to that amount!)

The incident occurred at the Findij leather store in an Udom Ake shop, Pattaya route 2, moo 10, Nongprue, Banglamung, Chonburi.

A store employee reported that he had caught a foreigner stealing store property, and asked the police to investigate. So officers took the suspect to question at the Pattaya police station.

The suspect was identified as Mr. Andrey Putin, 29 years old, from Russia. Police seized the evidence of 3 wallets made from cow and crocodile leather, worth a total of 7,000 baht ($226 USD).

The employee reporting the theft was Mr. Surasak Talam, 36 years old. He told police that he had been sticking the label stickers on products in the store, and noticed the Russian browsing and looking at the store products.

But the Russian was acting suspiciously, by looking to his left and his right repeatedly. So Mr. Surasak decided to observe the Russian. Then he saw Mr. Kikilov take the 3 wallets and put them in his pocket.

The Russian then walked out of the store and tried to pretend like nothing had happened. So Mr. Surasak yelled for other employees to help him to catch the thief, and to call the police.

After his arrest, Mr. Andrey denied to police that he had stolen the wallets.

He instead claimed that the staff had body searched him and stole 30,000 baht ($968 USD) cash from him.

But the police did not really believe Mr. Andrey because he was drunk.

However, the police made notes for the daily record, and sent him to be prosecuted.
