Hunting the Giant Mekong Catfish with Giant Bangkok Hooker (See Photo)
Via: Coconuts Bangkok
I grew up fishing for catfish in the United States, but one thing’s for sure—the fish don’t get as big there as they do here in Thailand.
In fact, the kingdom is home to the globe’s largest freshwater fish – the Giant Mekong Catfish.
To catch this behemoth I sought out one man I’d heard was THE guy you go to if you want to fish in Thailand.
Oz Chanarat runs a lucrative fishing tour business called Bangkok Hooker. In the few years since he started fishing full time, Oz has generated enough of a following that National Geographic invited him to star in an episode of its fishing show King Fishers.
With a Johnny Bravo voice and a walk like Arnold Schwarzenegger, I knew this character meant business as soon as I met him.
He said we’d land something special, but you’ll have to watch the video to see what we brought in!
