Chiang Mai – Man Escapes Death After Car Accident Leaves Him and His Car in the Moat

On Thursday 7th June, 2 p.m., the Chiang Mai Police Station received a call reporting that a car had lost control and ended up in the moat, with its driver still stuck inside.

police arrived at Kheoy Chiang Mai restaurant and found a brown Toyota Corolla with a drowning man in the water. Rescuers were able to help the driver, 28 year-old Siwapong Tritepchanchai, from the car. Siwapong said he was driving along the moat and was suddenly hit by a car from the back. Siwapong’s car mounted the pavement, hit a tree and slid into the moat.
