Chiang Mai – POPULAR Night Spots Get Busted by Police

Via: City News – Chiang Mai

On a busy Saturday night on June 2ndM.L. Pannada Dissakul, the Chiang Mai Governor, along with a team of narcotics police spoiled a good night for revelers at various clubs and pubs in Chiang Mai. This comes after the governor ordered the closure of ten pubs in Chiang Mai yet to be named.

Mandalay, Fabrique, Infinity and Warm Up Café were all checked for underage drinkers, some drug checks were done, and all pubs were told to close on time. The governor expressed to all the pub owners the importance of following the law.

We have to preserve our society said the governor, and that means following laws.

If people follow laws there will be less problems. If I find out that anyone, including government officers, has been using their position of power to break the law or gain from the law there will be disciplinary action taken and I will also inform the Prime Minister about these officers.

personal thought:

If you come to Chiang Mai thinking this is another Pattaya, Patong Beach, or Bangkok; you might be disappointed.

Instead, I suggest you think of it as another Disney ‘EPCOT’.

If you do that, I suggest you will have a wonderful time in the plus 700-year old city.
