Thailand – Chonburi Police Arrested Thieves Stealing Handrails off a Bridge

Banglamung police arrested gang of  criminals stealing  handrails off a bridge. They were caught with the equipment and handrails in their hands. Their pickup truck was parked on the bridge made to look like it had broken down.

Pattaya, October 14, 2011[PDN]; Pol. Sen. Sgt. Maj. Jarun  Panomkhet,Banglamung police station together with volunteer police team arrested Mr. Komsan  Wanthongsuk age, 26 and  Mr. Vatchara  Munkarn age, 24 and Mr. Veerasak  Prajantasen age 30.

The suspects  were stealing handrails off the bridge of Wat Tonkarok Moo 4 Tambon Nong Pla Lai , Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi. The handrail diameter size 6 inches, length 4 meter, weight 100 kg. One Toyota Tiger pickup license number THOR JOR-3905. Bangkok. Upon inspecting the the pickup truck the police also found “ya-ice” which was seized for evidence.

Pol. Sen. Sgt. Maj. Jarun Panomkhet, the patrol officer, said that a month ago  there were reports about criminals stealing the  handrails off the bridge. Always the same modus operandi the pick up truck parked made to look like it had broken down. Thereafter the thieves  stole the handrails off the bridge.

This time the police was alerted and caught three criminals red handed. The gang of three were accused of stealing government property and taken to Banglamung police station. An officer of Department of Highways  will conduct a further investigation together with the police.
