A retired British man faces 25 YEARS in jail for armed robbery in Thailand.

Michael Wynn, 63, was arrested at his apartment five days after using a gun and a knife to steal £12,000 from a bank last Wednesday.

Police said Wynn admitted the crime after he was caught with the cash in his flat.

The Honda motorbike he used to get away was caught on several CCTV cameras near Siam Commercial Bank, in Chiang Mai.

Police Colonel Somsak Jantapung said: “He was recognised as a foreigner immediately from his build and skin colouring. We put him under surveillance. “We went to his flat, he let us in and admitted the robbery after we found cash and the helmet and shoes similar to those used.”

personal thought:

How anyone with ‘his build and skin coloring’ thought he could pull off a bank robbery in Chiang Mai, is beyond me.
